The weather in the UK has actually been pretty damn hot recently (she says while sat looking out of the window at the rain). Though even if it is a little drab looking, it’s always so humid and muggy feeling, which still makes your makeup sweat off and not last as long throughout the day. Today I thought i’d share with you my go-to makeup for when I know i’ll be out and about all day, and for when I want my makeup to really last.
A primer for me is always a must, especially in the summer months. I’ve been loving the Porefessional from Beneift. Not only does it fill in your pores, but it gives the rest of your makeup a base to stick to. A far as foundation goes, the Nars Sheer Glow is my go to summer foundation. It gives you the coverage and leaves your skin looking dewy and glowy. What’s more, it has great staying power. Finishing off the base with a little bronzer, I’m forever obsessed with Benefit Hoola, and a little highlight. I’ve opted for a cream highlighter from No7, as it will last longer and not look as powery on the face.
As far as brows go, you could always just pop on a little brow gel, something like the Maybelline Brow Drama, if you have naturally quite full brows. However, if you have a few sparce areas like me, then you can go in with some brow power or even a matte eyeshadow. I love using my Naked Basics 2 palette for my brows, as the shades are cool and ashy, making them ideal shades for the brows.
On a daily basis when i’m in a rush, I like to skip the eyeshadow step and go straight in with the mascara. The Max Factor False Lash Effect is a new one i’ve been giving a go recently. It almost is like a waterproof formula. It has the staying power and is a pain to remove. But it holds the curl and is a great option for summer.
For lips, I like to add a pop, seeing as the eyes are so basic. The Revlon Ultra HD Lipsticks have been my new obsession the last couple of months. The colour Hydrangea is a gorgeous fuchsia pink, and one that finishes off the whole look.
Last but not least I will set the makeup with a bit of the MAC Fix +. And there we go, my go-to summer sweat proof makeup. If you have oily skin, dusting a light power will set your base in place even more, and also help control the shine.
I hope you liked this post, and if you have any post recommendations, I would love to know!
